Okay, I admit that Half Moon Bay doesn’t have the big name theme parks, but some of the parks\u00a0do have themes. Maybe we should call them\u00a0theme-ish<\/em> parks!<\/span><\/p>\n

There are several major theme parks just an hour or so away from Half Moon Bay, so we included them here just incase you needed a quick ‘coaster fix.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lemos Farms\u00a0\u2013 Half Moon Bay<\/a><\/h3>\n

Explorer1.com Review \u2013 This family farm specializes in year round activities for children such as pony rides, tractor\/train rides, petting zoo, etc.\u00a0 Adults may find the seasonal decorations and crowds a little much, but children seem to love it!<\/p>\n

Six Flags \u2013 Vallejo<\/a><\/h3>\n

The park is a 135-acre park featuring awesome rides, great shows, and incredible attractions. This park has something for all ages. It has rides specifically designed for thrill seekers, teens, tots and the whole family. If amusement rides are not your thing, they have plenty of animal exhibits and shows.<\/p>\n

Great America \u2013 San Jose<\/a><\/h3>\n

Great America was recently voted the Bay Area’s most exciting theme park! Along with their ultra thrill seeking rides, they have\u00a0Planet Snoopy –\u00a0<\/strong>a section dedicated to the younger children.<\/p>\n

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk \u2013 Santa Cruz<\/a><\/h3>\n

Voted the world\u2019s Best Seaside Amusement Park in 2007 and 2008, the historic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk features both modern and classic thrill rides, restaurants, miniature golf, video game arcades, and family bowling, all located on a mile-long sandy beach. On the south end of the park, is their section for young kids. The admission-free Boardwalk offers affordable ticket options and free summer entertainment. A truly unique California experience!<\/p>\n

Gilroy Gardens \u2013 Gilroy <\/a><\/h3>\n

(formally Bonfante Gardens)<\/p>\n

The family oriented theme park has over 40 rides, gardens and exhibits.\u00a0 The Park’s mission is to entertain and educate families — especially young children — making it the most family friendly theme park in the region.<\/p>\n
