Monterey Surfing

What makes Monterey an ideal SCUBA diving destination? Protected environment with an abundant amount of marine life and great underwater clarity so you can see them!

Monterey's rocky bottom and coastline may make it hazardous for surfing, but it is wonderful for underwater visibility.  Unlike Santa Cruz, it doesn't have as much of sandy bottom to churn up.

Always play it safe.  Most of the area's SCUBA diving locations can be very dangerous and should only be explored by advanced divers.  If you are unfamiliar with a particular dive spot, be sure to visit a local dive shop to find out about dive locations and conditions that will match your skill level.
