Monterey Wine Tasting

Monterey, California Wineries and Vineyards

Monterey County has a tradition of fine winemaking that dates back to the early 1800’s when the Franciscan Friars planted the first wine grapes in the region .  Today, the County is home to over 75 vintners and growers.

About an hour drive from Monterey is Calera Wine Company in Holister (San Benito County). We mention it here because it was just named the 5th best winery in America by the Daily Meal.
