Explorer1.com Review ─ The Richard J. Elkus Ranch is an environmental education center providing unique hands-on learning experiences for Bay Area youth. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, and the animals are entertaining and seem to tolerate young children — especially Cleo their mouse hunting cat.
Demonstrations include edible plants, gardening, predator and prey exhibits and much more. From my personal experience, children of all ages seem to really enjoy learning about farm life and being able to get up-close and personal the animals and digging into the garden. Why do all kids love dirt?
